Exciting News!

On December 18, 2015, Washington approved the Tax Extenders Act, HR 2029, which extended the EPAct 2005 179D tax deduction one year retroactive (2015) and one year forward (2016).

This bill provides for a federal tax deduction of up to $0.60 per square foot for putting in energy-efficient lighting and associated controls. That’s $120,000 in tax deductions for a 200,000 square foot warehouse. This is a BIG incentive to upgrade lighting! Coupled with utility incentives, they go far in reducing payback times on a lighting retrofit.
